Take Part In Saving A Dog’s Life!
“They’re all “Top Dogs”to us!”
Most of the dogs come into Ugly Mutts care with nothing but the hair on their backs. A foster home is often the first home these dogs have ever lived in, and their foster parents provide the first opportunity for them to feel safe and loved.
While foster homes are always needed there are other ways to help that are just as important. Take a moment to look over our Wish List to see if you might have items around the home that are not in use but could be a great help to our foster families and their foster dogs. Any donations are always welcomed and appreciated.
To find a location near you to drop off items or to have items picked up by an Ugly Mutts volunteer, please contact Kim at kim@uglymutts.com
For The Dogs:
- Dog crates and puppy pens (any usable condition)
- Carriers (any usable condition)
- Leashes and collars (gently used are fine)
- Toys and tennis balls (gently used are fine)
- Food dishes (stainless please for sanitary purposes as they are reused many times over)
- New or gently used dog beds
- Dog treats (expiry no more than 3 months of the day’s date)
- Dog food (expiry no more than 3 months of the day’s date and only unopened bags please)
- Grooming supplies (shampoo, brushes, etc.)
- Flea Preventative (as long as the individual vials are unopened)
- Heartworm Preventative (as long as the individual pill packet is still intact)
- Other medications such as glucosamine tablets, etc. (as long as they are not expired)
- Pre-paid veterinarian services (click here and check the bottom of the page)
For Ugly Mutts Foster Parents:
- Cleaning products (Spray 9 or Zep products always great!)
- Baby gates (so appreciated for foster homes!)
- New or gently used towels
- Paper towels
- Gift certificates for Staples or other stationary stores to cover the cost of printing flyers, contracts, etc.
- Gas cards to help with the fuel costs of rental trucks needed to transport dogs.
- Gift certificate to pet stores
- Canadian Tire Money
These are just some of the much needed items but if you think of something else that you believe might be helpful, just drop us a line and we will have a volunteer pick the item up or give you directions where items can be dropped off.
